Paro International Airport
Paro International Airport (PBH), Bhutan’s only international airport is positioned in the Paro Valley, on the banks of the Paro Chhu River, at an altitude of 2,235 metres. This celebrated airbase is believed to be among the world’s most challenging airports for pilots, due to being nested amidst lofty mountain peaks and unpredictable weather conditions.
The airbase is facilitated by the service of two airlines, Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines, with only a certain number of certified pilots acquired for the flight operations.
