Sikkim in Summer Season
The summer season from March to June, is the best time to visit Sikkim. Temperatures stay pleasant, ranging from around 10-15°C in higher altitudes to 25°C in the valleys, making it easy to explore. On the cultural side, attending festivals such as Saga Dawa, a sacred Buddhist festival on the full moon of the fourth lunar month, honoring Lord Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana, is a highlight. Bumchu, hosted at Tashiding Monastery in West Sikkim on the 15th day of the first lunar month, is a unique festival to witness in the summer season in Sikkim. This festival stands out as pilgrims gather at midnight for prayers, dances, and chants, with the holy water distributed as a healing blessing.
